For a HIIT-style workout, do each exercise for 50 seconds, then rest for exactly 10 seconds before moving on to the next exercise. When you’re done, take a short rest, and repeat the circuit twice more.

1. Crunches

Crunches are a standard core exercise that are far more efficient and safe than full sit ups. Be sure to tuck in your chin and focus on tightening your core.

2. Russian Twist

This exercise focuses on rotational control, and will strengthen your obliques and balance muscles. Increase the difficulty by lowering your legs until they are just slightly off the floor. Make it easier by raising them up higher.

3. Planks

No core exercise is complete without planks. Try to hold the plank position for a full 60 seconds before resting if you can.

4. Pilates Side Hip Raise

Use this technique to activate your abs, as well as your thighs and back for support.

5. Flutter Kicks

You’ll be engaging your core to keep your body stabilized during this exercise designed to work your legs and glutes.

6. Pilates Leg Pulls

A great, full-body workout, this technique taps into your lower back, glutes, and hamstrings.

7. Side Planks

This exercise is similar to the plank, but it focuses on one side at a time. Because it is asymmetrical, you’ll have to do one set on your left side, and then another set on your right.

8. Push-Ups

Push-ups are a wonderful, full-body exercise that tighten your core. Make sure to keep your legs and back straight, and don’t sag your butt.

9. Medicine Ball/Stability Ball V-Up

This exercise is a little different depending on if you’re using a medicine ball or a stability ball, but both are effective.
