1. Limit Alcohol

You will be surprised how limiting (or avoiding) alcohol can help you to drop serious weight. Choose non-alcoholic beverages instead. Alcohol can increase your appetite, allowing you to overindulge and eat calories that you don’t need. Limit alcohol to special occasions. Drink moderately and you can lose weight without dieting.

2. Meditate

For centuries, meditation has been known to connect mind and body. Find a quiet spot with no distractions; intentionally meditate on your wants and desires. If you are on a weight loss journey, reflect on why you want to be thinner. Imagine yourself in a favorite slimmer dress. Meditate with purpose and sincerity. Unleash your mind and see big results.

3. Eat Slowly

The secret is chewing more and eating less. Don’t cram food into your mouth before you have chewed and swallowed. It takes about 20 minutes for your stomach to send your brain the single that you are full. Masticate your food and enjoy eating. You will eat less, have a healthy digestive track, and drop pounds.

4. It’s All About The Fork

This is a simple strategy to eat less and savor your food. After every bite, lay your fork down. Enjoy the bite, put your fork on the table, then chew, chew, chew. If you don’t have your fork in your hand, then you won’t be tempted to shovel more food into your mouth. Consider using chopsticks when you dine. You will take smaller bites and eat less calories. 6. Hit The Gym

For every calorie you consume there is a reaction. We all know that they body converts unused calories to fat. Ugh! Eating chocolate cake can be counter-attacked by hitting the gym. Complete 20 minutes of cardio, followed by a 40 minute circuit of resistance training. Exercise at least three times a week; daily is better and will keep you healthy. Consult with a fitness trainer who can help you create an exercise routine. Oh, and, avoid the cake, if possible.

7. Eat More Fiber

Stock up on fresh veggies, beans and whole grains. Eating more fiber has many benefits. Fiber fills you up without weighing you down. A bowl of black beans with fresh veggies on the side makes a great lunch. Fiber provides energy as well as sustenance. Replace man-made, processed foods with fiber laden foods. You will be surprised at how quickly the pounds drop off.

8. Avoid Sugar

It’s a no-brainer; sugar contains a lot of calories. Removing sugar from your diet will have a profound impact on your weight. Check food labels for hidden sugars such as fructose and dextrose. Sugar has at least 50 different names! Challenge yourself to remove sugar from your food list. You will see a difference in as little as a week.

9. Say No To Soft Drinks

The soft drink industry makes billions of dollars. They make soft drinks so that they taste good and you want more and more. Stop the madness! Replace soft drinks with fresh water. You don’t need artificial and man-made junk! You don’t need to be addicted to soft drinks. When you say no to soft drinks, you say yes to weight loss, health and wellness.

10. Eat At Home

Occasional eating at restaurants is okay, but eating out more than once a week can pack on the pounds. Eating at home allows you to know where you food came from (hopefully the Farmer’s Market), enables you to control portion size, and have fun cooking in your kitchen! Break the fast-food/restaurant habit. Stock your pantry with wholesome foods; veggies, legumes, fresh fruit, and lean protein. Eat at home to lose weight without dieting.
