This may be the greatest motivation for running a race ever.
Philadelphia reporter/local hero, Anna Orso, is currently going viral for completing a 10K race while stopping at every taco place along the way.
Yes, this actually happened. While Orso was not an official participant of the Philly 10K — she had planned to run the race properly, but encountered registration issues — she took matters into her own hands and mapped the route herself (with a lemon-lime twist), completing a five-hour run that took her to 13 taco stops.

“So I decided, screw that, I’ll complete my own Philly 10K and spend my time doing something far better than the perpetually-overrated activity that is running: Eating tacos.”
She chronicled her epic journey in an article that boasts one of the greatest headlines ever written: “I Did The Philly 10K Except I Walked It And Ate Every Taco Along The Way.”
But it wasn’t all rainbows and tacos. At one point Orson began to get full. The situation was dire; she felt like she couldn’t go on.
Determined to stay the course, Orson pushed through her taco plateau and kept moving towards the finish line.
I’m starting to get fatigued. I walk into the 7-Eleven at 11th and Washington in search of water. I’m parched, and feel like I haven’t consumed a beverage since ‘Nam. I chug a bottle of water and continue walking west on Washington under the beating sun. I see my reflection in a storefront and self-loathing starts to set in. I cut up 12th Street and am starting to regret being so overzealous at the beginning of this endeavor. I realize the fancier Mexican places are coming up soon, and I imagine myself throwing up at El Vez. What will they do?
Life is tough. In any event, Orso was successful in completing her taco quest, starting her journey at 11:25 in the morning and finishing at 4:15 in the afternoon. She even topped the whole thing off with a congratulatory margarita, because, well, why not?
Was her race unorthodox? Yes. But was it effective? Well… no, not really. With a belly full of tacos, Orso walked most of the route, so we can’t imagine it was one the greatest workouts she’s ever had.
Nonetheless, we’re certain she enjoyed every minute of it — and isn’t that what fitness is about? Finding an activity that you love and sticking to it?
