Indoor Vs Outdoor Exercise – Which One is Better?

There’s no doubt that exercise is great for everyone. To prevent health problems and obesity, we should all make sure to exercise regularly regardless of our diets. That’s why so many of us go to the gym regularly! However, when it comes to choosing between indoor and outdoor exercise, many people prefer to go outside. But why is this? Does outdoor fitness hold some kind of allure that indoor gyms fail to monopolise on? With more and more outdoor gym equipment and exercise equipment emerging on the market, it’s time we all thought carefully about whether it’s better to exercise outside, or inside.

Exercise is More Fun Outside

Think about it this way. In a gym, you only ever get to see the same four walls, over and over again. You might find some machines that let you run or cycle with a screen in front of you. However, that’s only going to get tedious in the long run. When you exercise outside, you have unlimited space. The whole world is wide open to you! There is absolutely no reason why you can’t explore the world through exercise, even if it just means using outdoor gym equipment in the garden or at the local track.

Wider Opportunities and More Flexibility

Exercise equipment designed for outdoor fitness is generally more flexible than what you’ll find indoors. Indoor gym machines are fixed in place. Outdoor fitness accessories, however, are much more fluid. You can move around more, and you don’t have to perform movements that are rigid or uniform. You can take exercise at your own pace, and what’s more, you have much more space to stretch out and run, for example.

Fresh Air is Healthy!

Indoor gyms generally come with air conditioning, but nothing beats a good lungful or two of fresh air. Exercising outdoors is a great way to break free from stuffiness and poor air quality. Regardless of the weather, you can take outdoor equipment with you and refilter the air in your lungs without having to depend on an aircon – which may or may not need cleaning out!

Fresh air is also healthier as you’re not breathing in everyone else’s germs and smells in close quarters. While indoor gyms are cleaner and healthier than ever before, it still might be more appealing to exercise somewhere that you have clean, unspoilt air to breathe in.

Outdoor Exercise is Great for Beginners

Exercising outdoors is a great option for gym beginners. Exercising in an indoor gym can feel intimidating! Instead of being close up to gymgoers who may have more experience in machines and cardio, for example, you can take all the time and space you need to burn off those calories. It’s a great way to embrace your inner exercise fanatic without getting too self-conscious.

It’s Time to Get Outside!

It’s time to start breaking free from your everyday gym equipment and to start making a move outside. Outdoor exercise equipment could really change your routine for the better – so why not give it a try?
