Your breasts are unique to you. Affectionately called “the girls” or your “boobs,” your breasts are a part of your body that is noticeable and attractive. Unfortunately, breasts tend to decline with age.
By the time 40 hits, your breasts may be headed downhill (literally).
This is common and natural. There’s really no way to avoid breast sagging completely. However, by implementing a few healthy daily habits, you can prevent yourself from having sagging breasts as early in life. By avoiding some everyday habits you can also put off having saggy boobs for a little while longer.
Add (or subtract) these five everyday habits from your routine to keep your boobs perky and full for years to come:
1. Stabilize Your Weight
What does your weight have to do with your boobs? Unfortunately, a lot. Your breast tissue isn’t made up of muscle at all, but of fat (remember: not all fat is bad!).
When you eat poorly, your body may send some of the extra fat to be stored in your boobs. In fact, being overweight can make your breasts bigger. Of course, being obese is also unhealthy and that extra, unnecessary fat in your breasts will weigh them down.
The areas around your breasts may have extra fat stored up too. The added weight and space of excess fat in and around your boobs will stretch the skin. That’s the same skin that needs to be tight in order to keep those breasts perky.
Eat a well-balanced diet and practice daily strategies to maintain a stable weight if you want to receive many health benefits –including boobs that look great for much longer!
2. Avoid Mistreating Your Breasts
So many habits can affect your breasts negatively. Avoid:
- Wearing ill-fitting, unsupportive bras
- Smoking is terrible for breast tissue
- Excessive sun-tanning or sun exposure
Think of the girls the next time you go for a cheap bra instead of one that fits well or pick up a pack of cigarettes.
3. Stay Fit
Your breasts don’t actually have muscles. Workouts that make your boobs look better actually strengthen and tone muscles around the chest, side, and abs to accentuate your breasts. Many of these exercises also target the muscles around the breast tissue so that your posture is healthy and your boobs are generally held in a supportive, attractive fashion.
So, while you can’t actually exercise your boobs to keep them attractive, you can (and should!) stay fit if you want the rest of your body to continue showcasing your boobs. The better supported your breasts are by surrounding muscle tissues, the less (and the later) they will sag.
- Dumbbell Bench Lifts
- Incline Dumbbell Bench Press
- Side Planks
- Elbow Squeezes
- Dumbbell Flys
You can incorporate such simple exercises into your normal workout routine easily. They’ll help to keep you fit in general and will target muscles that help your boobs to look better now (and sag less later!).
4. Eat Plenty of Pomegranate
Food with phyto-nutrients (or many nutrients at all) work many small wonders in your body. One of the first and foremost foods for working the miracle of anti-aging is pomegranate.
Breasts sag because of aging. They stoop down when the skin loses it elasticity and fails to hold the fatty tissue in place. So, if you consume anti-aging superfoods like pomegranate, you help that skin to stay firm and taut. As a result, your breasts sag less.
Add a few of these and a pomegranate to your daily diet and you’ll find that more than your boobs stay perky (including your thoughts and energy levels.)
5. Regularly Apply Skin Tightening Agents in the Region
Since sagging breasts are due mostly to the aging of the skin, which means the skin losing its tightness and elasticity, it is helpful to use treatments to keep that skin young and alive. For instance, there are a number of different treatments you can apply to the skin on and around your boobs that will firm the skin up and help to prevent wrinkles and aging.
Some popular treatments include:
- Aloe Vera being rubbed on for a few minutes and then rinsed off (four to five times a week).
- Yogurt, vitamin E, and egg all mixed together can be rubbed on as a mask over your boobs. Allow to harden before removing and rinsing off (once a week at most).
- Lemon juice, egg whites, and honey can all be applied to the region as well. Again, use this paste to form a mask like you would for a facial.
- On top of using a treatment for your skin, be sure to massage your breasts regularly as well. Massaging with avocado, coconut, or olive oil helps to keep the skin around the breasts healthy.
