10 Best Hangover Sandwich Ideas

Aug 9, 2015 //

According to findings released by researchers at Newcastle University in the United Kingdom, the bacon and bread sandwich is the perfect hangover cure.

Food doesn’t soak up your alcohol like a lot of people think, but it does increase your metabolism to help you power through your hangover and feel better faster. The bacon/bread combo is so powerful because bread is high in carbohydrates and bacon is full of protein, which breaks down into amino acids. Your body needs these amino acids, especially after a night of partying, so eating them first thing will make you feel better than any other (or no) meal. Plus, alcohol depletes your brain’s neurotransmitters and those amino acids go a long way to boosting feel-good hormones.

But a bacon and bread sandwich is just… boring. Spruce up your hangover cure-all sammie with these tasty hangover sandwich ideas. Always pair your sandwich with a tall glass of hydrating water!
