10 Quick And Easy Frittata Recipes

What is a Frittata? A Frittata is a yummy omelet originating from Italian and Spanish cuisine. It is a classic brunch menu item that incorporates fresh ingredients to create a wholesome meal. Frittatas are created in an oven-safe skillet (10 to 12 inch), and then baked in the oven to add extra texture and flavor.

Frittatas are made with beaten eggs, adding your favorite fresh garden vegetables and proteins. Typically cooked in a round skillet, and then sliced into wedge-shaped slices (like pizza slices) for serving. Serve with a side of fresh fruit for the perfect menu item.

1. Basic Frittata

Ingredients:

  • 8 free-range eggs
  • ½ cup unflavored almond milk
  • 1 cup chopped wilted baby spinach
  • 8 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
  • ½ cup diced sautéed red onion
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Direction:

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs until completely combined. Stir in the almond milk, bacon, onion, and spinach. Pour mixture into heated oven-safe skillet. 5. Grandma’s Frittata

Ingredients:

  • 8 free-range eggs

  • 2 cups chopped fresh broccoli florets

  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¾ teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • Pinch of grated nutmeg

  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Directions:

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs until completely combined. Stir in the sugar, cream, vanilla and fruit cocktail. Pour mixture into heated oven-safe skillet. Cook for five minutes, or until the egg begins to set. Do not stir. Sprinkle cheese and parsley on top. Place the skillet into the oven and bake for 15 minutes. Serves four.
