Eight Healthy Cocktail Recipes Under 200 Calories

It’s bikini season! Time to look and feel great on the beach, and be suave by the pool! Don’t gain weight on liquid calories– it doesn’t need to be five o’clock somewhere to enjoy our tasty low calorie cocktails! Each one stirs deliciousness and only 200 calories.

Happy Hour doesn’t have to be a dieter’s pitfall. Planning on your part can help to prevent calorie overload. Mixed drinks can quickly add unwanted calories. Before adding any mixers, a one and a half ounce serving of 80-proof alcohol packs 96 calories. Fruit juices, like orange juice, can multiply calories. Orange juice has 84 calories per a six-ounce serving. Calories aren't the only reason to take it easy on alcohol. Not only do cocktails boost calories, they also have a powerful impact on your inhibitions.

Sometimes when we overindulge at the bar before dinner, we also become impaired to what we are eating at dinner and consume more calories than we intended. It’s just another reason to go low-cal for cocktails and drink healthily. As co-author of The Dish on Eating Healthy and Being Fabulous, Carolyn O’Neil says, "It's the mixers, syrups, and sodas that really get people into calorie trouble, because most drinks start with one and a half ounces of distilled spirits that only have around 96 calories, but mixologists can easily turn that into a drink with hundreds of calories.”

Enjoy these refreshing cocktails alone, with a partner, or at a party! Everyone will love the fresh fruit juices and low calories!
