Homemade Jam Recipes You Must Try This Fall!

When the Fall season arrives, there is nothing better than homemade jam. It’s pretty easy to make, so you can prepare some for yourself, and some for your friends and family, too! If you really want to go all out, you can go pick the fruit you want to use yourself at an orchard or farm. Try some of these delicious recipes to get your homemade jam fix. For some recipes, you may need some basic equipment, like canning jars, a funnel, a stock pot, and a mixing bowl.

How To Properly Jar Your Homemade Jam Recipes

Sealing your jams properly is an important step if you want your jams to last or be able to store them outside the fridge. You don’t have to do this, but it is pretty cool. Just follow the steps below:

  1. Put all the jars you’re going to be using in a large pot. Cover the jars with water and bring to a low boil, and keep them hot until you’re ready to use them. Heat the lids in the same way. You should also sterilize any equipment you’re going to be using, like your ladle, tongs, and funnel. You don’t want any bacteria to get into your jam.
  2. After you have made your jam, remove your jars from the water, and start ladeling the jam into the jars using the funnel, making sure to leave a little space at the top of the jars so they can seal properly. Use tongs to place the lids on the jars, then screw the bands of the lids on top until they are tight.
  3. Place the sealed jars into boiling water for 15 minutes, then remove from heat. Clean the outside of the jar, and store.
