Ingredients

  • Puff pastry, frozen, ready-to-bake | 1.00 shell
  • Spices, nutmeg, ground | 1.75 tsp
  • Spices, cinnamon, ground | 1.75 tsp
  • Butter without salt | 5.00 tbsp
  • Drinking water | 2.00 cup 8 fl oz
  • Granulated sugar | 1.50 cup
  • Apple(s) without skin, raw | 6.00 medium 3" dia

Instructions

  1. Peel and core the apples.
  2. Roll pastry slightly less than 1/8"" thick. Cut into 7 squares.
  3. Boil the syrup ingredients for a few minutes.
  4. Place the apple in the middle of each pastry square.
  5. Fill them up with a combination of sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Dab each square with a teaspoon of butter.
  6. Raise points of the pastry up over the apple and overlap.
  7. Rain over 1 cup of the hot syrup mixture around the dumplings.
  8. Place in an oven set to 425°F for 45 minutes.
  9. … And it’s ready! Prior to serving, pour the remaining warm syrup over the dumplings and serve with cream.
