Ingredients

  • Drinking tap water | 2.50 cup 8 fl oz
  • Barley, pearled, raw | 0.67 cup
  • Mushrooms,Portable Cap | 6.00 oz
  • Spices, marjoram, dried | 0.50 tsp
  • Spices, pepper, black | 0.50 tsp, ground
  • Beef, ground, 95% lean meat / 5% fat, raw | 1.00 cup
  • Celery, raw | 0.50 cup chopped
  • green onions tops | 0.50 cup chopped
  • Cream, fluid, half and half | 0.25 cup

Instructions

  1. Place water, barley, mushroom, marjoram and pepper in slow cooker. Cover; cook on low 6 to 7 hours.
  2. Brown beef in large nonstick skillet 6 to 8 minutes over medium-high heart, stirring to break up meat. Drain and discard fat.
  3. Add celery and green onion; cook and stir 3 minutes.
  4. Stir beef mixture and half-and half into slow cooker mixture. Cover; cook High 10 to 15 minutes or until beef is hot and vegetable are tender.
  5. Garnish with parsley if desired.
