- In a saucepan heat chocolate and butter over low heat, stirring occasionally, until melted.
- Remove from heat.Cool, then mix in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
- Sift flour and baking powder and fold in the liquid mixture.
- Finally add chopped walnuts and mix.
- Spread in a greased and lightly floured 8x8x2-inch baking dish.
- Bake at 350 degrees F (175 C) for 30 minutes.
- Cool slightly; cut into 2-inch squares.
- Makes 16 brownies.
