  • Wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched | 1.50 cup
  • Low sodium baking powder | 1.50 tsp
  • Salt | 0.25 tsp
  • Brown sugar | 1.25 cup packed
  • Butter without salt | 0.50 cup
  • Egg, whole, raw | 2.00 medium
  • Semi sweet chocolate | 1.33 cup chips 6 oz package

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
  2. Grease a 9x13-inch (23x33-cm) rectangular baking dish.
  3. In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking powder and salt.
  4. In another large bowl, with an electric mixer, beat together brown sugar and butter just until combined.
  5. Add eggs and vanilla and continue beating for another minute or two until creamy.
  6. Add flour in two or three portions, beating just until combined after each addition.
  7. Finally, stir in chocolate chips.
  8. Spread batter in the prepared pan and bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until lightly browned on top and a toothpick poked into the middle comes out clean.
  9. Cut them into squares after cooling down.
