Ingredients

  • Butter without salt | 2.00 tbsp
  • Canola oil | 1.00 tbsp
  • Cabbage, raw | 1.00 head, medium about 5-3/4" dia
  • Brown sugar | 1.00 tbsp packed
  • Garlic, raw | 4.00 Tbsp
  • Red wine vinegar | 1.00 tbsp
  • Salt | 1.00 dash
  • Spices, pepper, black | 1.00 dash

Instructions

  1. Cut the cabbage; mince the garlic.
  2. In a large skillet, heat butter and oil over medium heat; add cabbage, garlic and brown sugar to pan. Sauté until the cabbage is limp, about 5 minutes or so. Reduce heat to medium-low and stir in vinegar.
  3. Cook, stirring very often, for approximately 20 minutes; taste and if cabbage is too crunchy for you, continue to cook for a few more minutes.
  4. Add salt and pepper to taste and serve.
