Ingredients

  • Cornstarch | 1.00 tsp
  • Salt | 1.00 dash
  • Canned milk, eveporated, with vitamin A | 7.50 fl oz
  • Butter without salt | 0.50 cup
  • Light corn syrup | 0.20 cup
  • Balsamic vinegar | 1.00 tsp
  • Granulated sugar | 2.00 cup

Instructions

  1. Combine cornstarch, salt, and sugar in a heavy 2 quart saucepan.
  2. Add evaporated milk, butter, corn syrup and vinegar.
  3. Cook and stir gently over low heat until sugar dissolves and mixture begins to boil.
  4. Continue to cook over medium heat to (238 degree F).
  5. Stir gently to prevent sticking while cooking candy.
  6. Remove from heat, cool to room temperature.
  7. Add vanilla and beat until stiff, approximately 10 minutes.
  8. Pour the mixture in buttered square pan.
  9. Cut it and can give desirable shapes and sizes.
  10. Can be served immediately, or chilled.
