  • Butter without salt | 0.75 cup
  • Powdered sugar | 0.75 cup sifted
  • Egg, whole, raw | 1.00 medium
  • Wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched | 1.50 cup
  • Low sodium baking powder | 1.00 tsp
  • Salt | 1.00 dash
  • Orange peel, raw | 1.50 tbsp
  • Semi sweet chocolate | 1.50 cup large chips

  1. Preheat the oven to 350*degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a microwave-safe dish, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips, stirring frequently until smooth. Set aside.
  3. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla.
  5. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture.
  6. Mix in the orange zest.
  7. Chill the dough for 1 hour. Roll the dough and cut cookies in to 1" diameter.
  8. Place on lightly greased baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until center is set. Cool on wire racks.
  10. When cool, dip one half of each cookie into melted chocolate.
  11. Again place them on wire racks to set the chocolate.
