  • Egg, whole, raw | 3.00 medium
  • Powdered sugar | 1.25 cup sifted
  • Canola oil | 0.20 cup
  • Drinking tap water | 0.25 cup 8 fl oz
  • Wheat flour, white, all-purpose, enriched, unbleached | 2.25 cup
  • Low sodium baking powder | 2.00 tsp
  • Baking soda | 0.75 tsp
  • Spices, cinnamon, ground | 1.00 tsp
  • Spices, nutmeg, ground | 0.50 tsp
  • Spices, allspice, ground | 0.50 tsp
  • Salt | 0.50 tsp
  • Apple(s) without skin, raw | 2.00 large 3-1/4" dia
  • English walnuts | 1.00 cup, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 300º F, then generously butter a 10-inch bundt pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the eggs, 3/4 cup honey, sugar, oil, and water, beating with an electric mixer until well blended, about 3 minutes.
  3. In another large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and salt.
  4. Add the finely chopped apples and walnuts and toss to coat evenly.
  5. Add the liquid ingredients to the dry mixture and beat until smooth, about 2 minutes.
  6. Scrape the batter into the prepared pan.
  7. Bake for 70 to 75 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
  8. Cool the cake on a rack for 5 minutes, then invert the pan onto a plate to remove the cake.
  9. Top the cake by spreading on the 1/3 cup of remaining honey and dust some confectioner's sugar (optional)
  10. Allow the cake to cool completely before serving.
