- Finely chop the onions. Take a heavy saucepan and melt butter in it.
- Put onions in it and cook them for about 3 minutes while stirring occasionally.
- Then put water, peas, salt and pepper, cover to simmer for about 12 minutes while stirring occasionally.
- Ladle the tendered peas into a blender with little of cooking liquid and blend until smooth.
- Strain the soup into saucepan, stir in cream and heat a little.
- Adjust seasoning and serve hot.
