- Beat the eggs and set them aside. Heat the oven to 325°F. In a bowl mix sugar, eggs, flour, condensed milk, corn oil, baking soda, salt, half of the poppy seeds and vanilla essence. Make two equal portions of the mixture and put it in two properly brushed and floured 2 lb loaf tins. Put the left over poppy seeds on top.
- Let it bake for 1 ¼ hours till golden and well risen. Take them out of the tins and place on wire rack to cool.
