  • Drinking tap water | 1.50 cup 8 fl oz
  • Brown rice, long grain, raw | 0.75 cup
  • Olive oil | 1.00 tablespoon
  • Ground turkey, 7% fat, broiled, crumbled | 8.00 oz
  • Soy sauce made from soy and wheat shoyu, low sodium | 4.00 tsp
  • Frozen mix vegetables | 2.50 package 10 oz
  • Spices, pepper, black | 0.50 tsp, ground

  1. In a heavy saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add rice and cover the pan.
  2. Reduce heat to low. Cook for 40 minutes or until rice is tender. Remove pan from heat using a pot holder.
  3. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add ground turkey. Cook and stir for about 5 minutes or until meat is no longer pink.
  4. Reduce heat to low. Stir in soy sauce. Add cooked rice, vegetables, and black pepper. Increase heat to medium-high. Cook and stir for about 5 minutes or until vegetables are tender and mixture is hot. Spoon even amounts onto 4 plates. Serve.
