  • Sesame seeds, whole, dried | 0.50 cup
  • Rolled oats cereal, whole wheat, rice, presweetened, maple flavored, with pecans | 1.00 cup
  • Medjool dates | 0.50 cup pitted and chopped
  • Orange peel, raw | 2.00 tbsp
  • Butter salted | 0.50 cup
  • Maple syrup | 0.25 cup

  1. Heat the oven to 350°F. Using a saucepan add syrup, butter and 4 oz honey, melt them, then stir in dates, sesame seeds, oats and orange peel. Mix properly.
  2. Take a shallow square tin which is lined using rice paper. Then put mixture in the tin and bake it for almost 20 minutes.
  3. For the topping put 2 tbsp honey and sesame seeds together and heat it over a pan of hot water till it becomes smooth enough so that it can be easily brushed on flapjacks.
  4. Take the flapjacks out of oven and properly brush the honey and sesame seed mixture on top and place the flapjacks again in oven and bake for another 10 to 15 minutes till golden. Let it cool in the tin after that cut 12 slices when it is still a little warm. Serve when ready.
