  • Broccoli, frozen, spears, unprepared | 0.50 package 10 oz
  • Cauliflower, frozen, unprepared | 0.50 package 10 oz
  • Frozen carrots | 0.50 package 10 oz
  • Drinking tap water | 0.50 cup 8 fl oz
  • Whole milk | 2.00 cup
  • Wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched | 0.33 cup
  • Spices, pepper, black | 0.13 tsp, ground
  • Chicken broth, low sodium, canned | 14.00 oz
  • Gouda cheese | 4.00 oz

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, combine frozen vegetables and the water. Bring to boil; reduce heat. Cover and simmer for about 4 minutes or just until vegetables are tender. Do not drain.
  2. Meanwhile, in a screw-top jar, combine 2/3 cup of the milk, flour, and pepper; cover and shake well. Add to vegetables; add broth and remaining milk.
  3. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir for 1 minute more. Add cheese; cook and stir over low heat until cheese is nearly melted.
