Ingredients

  • Butter without salt | 2.00 tbsp
  • Granulated sugar | 2.00 cup
  • Salt | 1.00 dash
  • Light corn syrup | 2.00 tbsp
  • Balsamic vinegar | 0.50 tsp
  • Whole milk with added vitamin D | 0.67 cup
  • Cocoa powder without sugar | 1.00 envelope Alba .675 oz
  • English walnuts | 0.50 cup, chopped

Instructions

  1. Slightly brown margarine in heavy saucepan.
  2. Stir in sugar, salt, vinegar, corn syrup, and milk.
  3. Cook over medium heat in covered pan until boiling.
  4. Add cocoa and increase heat to high.
  5. Cook until soft ball stage (238 degree F), stirringly only when necessary.
  6. Remove from heat and cool to lukewarm.
  7. Add vanilla extract and beat vigorously until candy thickens.
  8. Stir in chopped nuts, and pour onto a lightly buttered platter.
  9. Serve immediately.
