- Heat the oven to 425°F. Take a bowl and sift soda, plain flour, salt and cream of tartar then mix it. Add whole meal flour, milk and water in it, mix to make soft dough.
- Put dough on a lightly floured surface, then knead for a few minutes and shape it into a thick large circle.
- Take a baking tray, slightly flour it and put the dough on it. Mark a deep cross on top of loaf and dust flour on it. Place in oven and bake it for 25 to 30 minutes. Put on a wire rack and let it cool before serving.
