How to get the Perfect Beach Waves

How to Get the Perfect Beach Waves?

You know the deal, it can take hours to get your hair looking perfect and then bad weather can ruin it in a matter of seconds! However, it doesn’t have to be like this!

You can get natural-looking beach waves that suggest you’ve been at the beach all day, even when you’ve never left your desk. And, you can do it in a matter of minutes!

Of course, if it’s a special occasion, or you have the time, you can get a professional like hairdresser Barangaroo, to do it all for you.

Using The Flat Iron

You’ll need to use a heat protectant for your hair before you use the flat iron, or you’ll have dry hair instead of beach waves.

All you have to do is wrap your hair around the iron and pull it through the plates. It’s that simple, just clamp and slide through. You can finish the look by breaking up the waves with your fingers.

Skip the Heat

If you don’t have time or own a flat iron, or if you simply don’t want to apply heat to your hair, then get yourself a good quality salt spray and cover your hair with it. Then, simply split your hair down the middle and tie it into a bun on each side. Leave it to fully dry before releasing the buns and you’re good to go!

Using The Curling Iron

This is the standard approach and it works. To get the best results use a one-inch diameter barrel and slide it through your hair.

Again, it’s a good idea to use a heat protecting spray before you do this.

Once you’ve finished a quick shake of the hair will leave you good to go.

Making S-Shaped Beach Waves

The flat iron can be used to make S effect beach waves for the effortless, but slightly different look. Simply run your hair through the flat iron as before but rotate the iron back and forth as you do so. That’s it.

If you already have curly hair, you’ll want to straighten it before you start S-curling it.

The Headband

You can use a headband wrapped around your head and wrap your hair around the headband. It will make a nice curvy bit at the bottom of your hair. When you pull the hairband out you’ll have a look that suggests you’ve just left the beach.

Short hair

It is possible to create beach waves if you have short hair, no matter how short! You’ll need your one-inch curling iron and to master the flick of your wrist.

Simply run the curling iron through your hair and flick as you do so. Once completed use some flexible hold-hair spray to secure the look in position.

It must be flexible as you’ll want it to bounce and look natural.

If you’re after a superfast beach wave look then consider curling from your ponytail rather than the roots of your hair, it can actually make the beach wave look more natural.
