Woman Claims She Transformed Her Body By Eating MORE Carbs

One Australian woman says that eating more carbs is the key to a super-fit figure, and she’s got the results to prove it.

Madalin Frodsham, 27, told Daily Mail Australia about how she changed her diet from five per cent carbs to 50 per cent carbs.

“I was sick of my diet and felt that I was plateauing, so I wanted to try something new,” she said.

The before-and-after photos speak for themselves. While she was toned and thin before, (neither her workout regime nor her weight has changed, she says) Ms. Frodsham is now noticeably stronger, with defined abs and toned, slim legs.

Before she embraced carbs, the Instagram star was on the ketogenic diet of 70 per cent fat, 25 per cent protein and just five per cent carbohydrates.

“The ketogenic diet had worked for me in the past,” said Frodsham, “But I found the food so difficult to eat, as you’re constantly having to substitute carbohydrates. So instead of pasta, you have zucchini noodles, instead of tacos you have lettuce cups, instead of a pizza base you make it with cauliflower.”

“I gradually started just eating salad and veggies in an effort to be healthy but then that just became so boring,” she said.

Stuck in a food rut, she she enlisted the help of a personal trainer and nutritional coach, who advised her to add more carbs into her diet.

“When [my personal trainer] first told me to eat 50 per cent carbs I nearly died,” she wrote on her inspirational Instagram page, which has more than 47,000 followers.

She also upped her calorie intake from a measly 800 to 1,800 calories a day.

“I remember how hard I struggled to actually eat the size of my meals,” she says. “I would just put my lunch next to my desk and eat it over the course of three hours as I couldn’t eat it in one sitting.”

In each of these photos, Frodsham weighs 52 kg (around 115 pounds), with one key difference. She says she used to work out just so she could keep her body weight under 50 kilograms. Now, she cares less about the number on the scale, and more about how her body feels.

At first, her new diet had her disheartened — she wasn’t losing any weight. But soon, she realized her body was changing. Eating more carbs allowed her to replace fat with muscle, she says.

“I have visible abs, biceps vying to be seen and a perky butt, so I’m not complaining. That’s not even to mention my mental health and how amazing and full of energy I feel every day. “

For anyone else at there struggling to lose those last 10 pounds — despite a gruelling, low-calorie, low-carb diet — Frodsham has some advice.

“If you’re under feeding yourself in an effort to lose weight, don’t do what I did for so long. Don’t waste your time eating salad when you could be eating sweet potatoes and banana pancakes,” she says.

“Eat more and get fit. It actually works,” she added.
