Celebrate the World Meditation Day by attending a meditation session without leaving your home
(Gherkin ,London & Vancouver,21st May, 2019.)
As part of his ongoing quest to share the benefits of meditation with the world, Will Williams, the founder of World Meditation Day and author of “The Effortless Mind”, will celebrate 2019 World Meditation Day on the 21st May by hosting two guided meditation sessions across two continents on the same day.
Will’s long day starts atop the Gherkin in London at 8:30 GMT, with the first session, streamed to a live audience via the Beeja Meditation website and Facebook. As soon as this ends, Will jets off to Vancouver for another live-streamed session from the Museum of Anthropology at 20:30 PDT, a mere twenty hours after the first session began. Free from dogma and supercharged with Will’s extensive meditative knowledge, the guided meditations will be easy and enjoyable for everyone.
With an online audience of approximately two million people expected for the European and North American sessions, many people across the world will get the chance to experience guided meditation. Both sessions will be hosted in partnership with Unify, an online community which works to unify the emerging global movement for world peace, and people can join the meditations by following Unify on Facebook.
The 2019 World Meditation Day events follow the sell-out World Meditation Day ‘gig’ at Fabric in 2018, which saw 1,000 people meditate in one of London’s most iconic nightclubs. On World Meditation Day, Will Williams said:
“I established World Meditation Day back in 2017 to make meditation fun and accessible to all, and subvert the assumption that it’s all about sitting cross-legged and chanting ‘Om’. I believe that meditating can have a truly meaningful impact on the world and this day is a chance for everyone to dip their toe in, enjoy themselves and start to free themselves from the stress and strain of modern life.”
Will is also the Founder of Beeja, a brand new meditation program set to launch in June 2019. The meditation sessions can be accessed through the revolutionary Beeja app which helps people through the early sessions and promises to have them meditating self-sufficiently within 21 days. For those more experienced in the practice of meditation, Beeja also offers a variety of immersive courses and retreats.
About Will Williams
Will was working in the music industry, burning the candle at both ends, when he hit the wall. Unable to sleep and stressed out to the max, he stumbled upon meditation by chance on a night out. To his surprise, it cured his insomnia and changed his life forever.
From this, Will made a radical change as he pressed pause on his frantic lifestyle and started what would become an eleven-year meditative quest around the world. Will’s journey took Will up the Himalayas, down the Ganges, and gave him the chance to meet incredible seers and great masters.
Will spent six months learning the ancient secrets of Ayurveda at the world-renowned Raju Institute of Hyderabad, and now Will has dedicated his life to teaching others about meditation. Taking the most impactful elements from the Vedic style of meditation mixed with his learnings from the science behind meditation, Will has created his own unique approach which uses the wisdom of ancient teachings applied to the modern world.
Will has a burning passion for the powerful benefits of Beeja and wants to encourage everybody to experience its life-changing benefits. By sharing these simple teachings and techniques which can be used every day, Will hopes to create a happier, healthier world.
