How to stay safe and sanitary at the gym – Wear a mask

You may be planning to hit the gym again to get back into shape after months of lockdown. But like all other public places, gyms are also not out of the list of the affected areas.

And this ongoing pandemic situation is a huge reminder about the fact of how important it is to follow cleanliness and perform the hygienic rituals to stay safe and maintain a healthy surrounding.

That’s why you need to take some of the precautions to keep yourself safe from the touch of COVID-19:

Wear a mask:

As we all know about this “new normal” trend, wearing a mask is the most effective stance against the coronavirus. So you can’t miss this at your gym.

As you don’t know if your mates are affected or not, so keeping you protected while the heavy breathing sessions are the only way of prevention.

It may feel a bit irritating due to sweat and heavy breathing, but it is way better to wear a mask in the gym than to stay in the quarantine ward as a COVID affected patient.

Use a breathable mask with better protection and comfort while doing high-intensity workouts, and cover your nose and face properly to avoid any risk. Wear Live Better PPE kit, face shields, and gloves alongside the masks if needed.

Carry your own staffs:

The second most important caution is to avoid COVID-19 to avoid touching random places. As it is evident that the disease is spreading through touches.

So it is better to carry your own kit for a towel, water bottle, sanitizers, and other belongings so that you don’t need to borrow it from anyone else. As the new normal situation says, not-sharing is the ultimate caring, to fight back against this deadly virus.

Frequent sanitizing:

Sanitizers are your best weapon to say no to the germ. Use all the means of sanitizing before and after touching anything in the gym. A public gym is going to get touched by so many people, which can rapidly spread the infection.

Use an alcohol-based sanitizer in your hands after every 30 mins, and consider washing your hands with soap or hand wash every 1 hour. You can also use disinfectant wipes before touching any machine or handles to maintain top-notch hygiene.

Maintain social distancing:

You must be craving for a tight hug from your gym buddies, but this is not the right time. Social distancing is another effective way of keeping yourself and others safe. Maintain 6-7 feet of distance from others.

Also try to consider picking a time or schedule, when the gyms are not crowded. Avoid gathering and chatting with your friends for hours. Try to get back to your home as soon as you are done with your work out session.

Wash your gym wears regular:

When you go outside, you unknowingly come in contact with many people, even if you try your best to maintain social distancing.

Moreover, workout sessions need you to sit on the floor and on other machines, which are enough to make your clothes and shoes come in contact with the virus and bacteria. Wash them every time with hot water and detergent, when you come back from the gym.

You can also keep some of your clothes and shoes dedicated to your gym purpose while keeping them separate from your other kinds of stuff and clothes.

Though gyms are one of the most important parts of life to maintain fitness and health, it’s better to avoid gyms if you are sick or having some kind of physical weakness to avoid the infection in your body. Follow the health guidelines properly while applying all the safety and hygienic measurements to act as a responsible person.
