We’re all for variety when it comes to staying fit, but not every style of exercise works for everyone. There’s something to be said for finding a gym class — or even a workout niche — that suits you perfectly.

Aries (March 21-April 19)
Aries are famously enthusiastic, passionate and at times, aggressive. Being short-tempered and determined, an Aries would do well with an intense sport that allows them to get their energy out, like boxing or cycling. Bold and challenging tasks are the bread and butter of fiery Aries, so competitive workouts — either on a team or against their own personal bests — will keep an Aries motivated.
Taurus (April 20- May 20)
Slow and steady wins the race for a stubborn Taurus, who likes to go at their own pace, on their own time, when they’re good and ready. This doesn’t mean Taurus can’t get in a tough workout (on the contrary, tough Taurus loves a good sweat); it just usually means it has to be on their own terms. Running in nature, or doing a personal routine alone at the gym, are great workouts for a practical and devoted Taurus. And while they are known to be patient compared to their peers, they detest performing drill-sergeant exercises, and much prefer to play team sports or an outdoor activity as part of their workouts.
Gemini (May 21- June 19)
The dual nature of the Gemini means he/she wants to maintain both body and mind health with their workouts. A workout that engages both the body and mind — like yoga, Pilates or Tai Chi — is therefore ideal. Geminis also thrive on information, so find a trainer who not only demonstrates the exercises, but tells you why they’re so effective and what, exactly, they’re accomplishing.
Cancer (June 21- July 22)
It may seem like a catch-22, but Cancers want it all: the comfort of working out at home and the ability to exercise with a group. For this reason, live-streaming workouts or working out at home with a friend are perfect solutions. Cancers are happy to attend a group gym class — so long as they aren’t too far from home — so choose a class nearby to ensure you actually attend.
Leo (July 23 – August 22)
Creative, passionate, self-confident Leos love an audience. They give their 100 percent to any activity, and thrive on being the star of a show. Leos may enjoy Zumba or dance-based workouts that allow them to express themselves (while looking damn good doing it), and they certainly won’t be shy about going at it front and centre.
Virgo (August 23 – September 22)
Virgos are health conscious and care very much about staying active and looking fit. They especially want to make sure they aren’t wasting their time — Virgos want the best bang for their buck. That’s why a Virgo should opt for HIIT-style workouts with tough body-sculpting moves, like squats, push-ups and planks — perfect for the loyal and hardworking Virgos.
Libra (September 23 – October 22)
Gentle, kind Libra is not one to start a fight, so kick-boxing may not be the right fit for this sweet social butterfly. Instead, Libras prefer to do smaller group activities or with a partner, especially ones that are aesthetically pleasing. Gorgeous, Instagram-worthy yoga poses or acro-yoga are therefore well-suited to Librans.
Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)
Libras may not enjoy punching and kicking things, but Scorpios? Oh baby. Scorpios are one of the most powerful signs, so a powerful workout is just what the doctor ordered. Boxing is an obvious choice, but weight-lifting workouts that include barbell squats, deadlifts and power presses, are a tough workout that a Scorpio thrives on. As with anything, Scorpios thrive on passion, so the number one thing is to find an activity that gets your blood going — and leaves you feeling sore.
Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)
Sagittarians are usually generous, idealistic and are known for their love for outdoor activities. Similar to their Aquarius friends, they also love to exercise for a cause. Thus, jogging, running or cycling outdoors are an ideal exercise for a Sag, especially if there’s a charitable element involved.
Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)
Capricorns disciplined, dedicated and dependable, so their workouts tend to reflect this. You won’t see a Capricorn trying out the latest trendy workout craze. Instead, they’ll find a hardworking, honest program that gets results. Capricorns are obsessed with executing proper form and getting results from hard work, so they may be well suited for professional training sessions, or goal-oriented workout regimes that give them something tangible to aspire to.
Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)
Aquarians are progressive, do-gooder types, with a social, humanitarian approach towards life. Aquarians are therefore very suited to group fitness classes, especially if there’s a good cause involved. Charity-driven runs or cycling events, as well as meditative yoga, are bliss for an Aquarian who can get their heart rate up and get their hearts involved at the same time.
Pisces (February 19 – March 20)
The dreamy, creative over-thinker, Pisceans take to water like, well, fish. A Pisces may feel their natural anxiety melt away under the repetitive, soothing motions of a good, long swim. Try this swimming workout on for size.

Completely disagree with Leo’s portrayal and workout!
We are the LIONS of the Zodiac and rule the 5th House of Hobbies and Sports. Leo is also one of THE most powerful signs and as such we FAR prefer boxing, weight lifting, martial arts, rugby, rather than the cliches and exaggerated dance or theatre nonsense.
We are powerful, aggressive, and fierce! Portray us as the mighty LIONS we are and not the little show kitty you want to portray us as! Please edit this frustrating article to better reflect our intense and powerful natures.
